Emotional Freedom

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)

Increasingly, in addition to using hypnotherapy, I’m also using EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) as I’m finding this is a much quicker way of dealing with problems.  This, again like hypnosis, is a nice relaxing technique and is a tool which you the client can take away and use before any and every situation that you may feel could be stressful.

SO WHAT IS IT?

EFT is relatively new to the UK having been developed in the US and has its roots in Applied Kinesiology.  It is a process that involves tapping on energy meridians whilst tuning into the issue.  This means that whilst you tap on various points on your body, you will be asked to repeat out loud certain phrases relating to the issue being worked on.  Usually, the negative feelings you have been feeling begin to reduce and often dissolve away completely, leaving you free.  This may sound strange, but it really does work!  The basis of EFT is that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system.  EFT balances the body's energy system, removing any disturbance to the energy flow.  It has been called a psychological version of acupuncture.

Imagine a motorway littered with broken down vehicles.  Metaphorically speaking, EFT restores the free-flowing motorway traffic by removing the broken down cars that cause the disruption to your life, allowing the traffic to flow again.

It is not uncommon for long-standing phobias or chronic pain to be released entirely in one session of treatment.  Similarly, psychological pain such as anxiety, depression and addictions caused by traumatic incidents or childhood memories can be relieved in a single session.

By now you may have seen the highly successful Hypnotherapist, Paul McKenna demonstrate this technique many times on television and can see just how powerful it is!

EFT can offer rapid and effective relief and help with the following:

Phobias, fears, panic attacks, anxiety, emotional & acute trauma.  PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), addictions (drugs, food, alcohol), obsessive behaviour, bereavement, lack of self-worth, chronic pain.

Recent evidence also indicates its usefulness in certain physical conditions, i.e. the re-balancing of the autonomic nervous system, (discovered by Cardiologist Dr Fuller Royal), and the precise indication of individual foods or chemicals that can be toxic to the body's energy system. EFT is also used to enhance personal performance in business and sport.
